Advocate Zaman Irshad Parray Appeals to Centre for Immediate Rescue of Kashmiri Students, Indians Stranded in Iran>>>

Srinagar, January 14, 2026:Advocate Zaman Irshad Parray has appealed to the Union Government to take urgent and concrete steps to ensure the safe evacuation of Kashmiri students and other Indian citizens stranded in Iran, as the security situation in the country continues to worsen.

In a statement issued from his office on Wednesday, Advocate Parray expressed deep concern over the rapidly deteriorating conditions in Iran, which have led several nations to advise their citizens to leave immediately.

The Government of India has also issued advisories urging Indian nationals, including students, to evacuate the country. However, he noted that the ground situation remains extremely challenging, with disruptions in cellular and internet services, suspension of flights, and increasing instability, making it nearly impossible for many Indian citizens—especially Kashmiri students pursuing higher education—to return home on their own.“Protecting the lives and safety of our citizens must be the foremost priority of the Government of India,” Advocate Parray said. “The Centre should actively engage diplomatic channels and deploy the resources of the Indian Embassy in Iran to arrange a well-coordinated evacuation. Parents and families in Kashmir and across the country are deeply anxious about the safety of their children.”Advocate Parray highlighted India’s proven record of conducting successful evacuation operations during international crises and expressed confidence that swift and decisive action could bring all stranded students back safely before the situation escalates further.“Our country has both the capacity and the responsibility to act. Timely intervention will not only save lives but also reassure families that the nation stands firmly with its citizens, wherever they may be,” he added. The Office of Advocate Zaman Irshad Parray has urged the Ministry of External Affairs, the Prime Minister’s Office, and other concerned authorities to treat the issue as a humanitarian emergency and initiate immediate measures, including international coordination if necessary, to secure the safe return of Indian nationals from Iran.
