The teachings of Islam emphasize the elevated status of mothers and emphasize that every day should be a celebration of their love, sacrifices, and unwavering dedication. The Quran, the holy book of Islam, repeatedly emphasizes the importance of treating one’s parents with kindness and respect, with special emphasis on the mother. In one verse, Allah says, “And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.” (Quran 31:14)This verse highlights the significant role of mothers in nurturing and raising their children, underscoring the physical and emotional sacrifices they make from pregnancy through infancy and beyond. The Quranic directive to honor and cherish one’s parents extends throughout one’s lifetime, emphasizing that the duty to show gratitude and kindness to them is not limited to a particular day or occasion.Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the final messenger of Islam, further emphasized the importance of mothers in numerous sayings.

He once stated, “Paradise lies at the feet of your mother,” emphasizing the profound rewards and blessings associated with serving and honoring one’s mother. In Islam, the concept of serving one’s parents, especially one’s mother, is considered a virtuous act that leads to spiritual growth and closeness to Allah.

Acts of kindness, respect, and obedience towards one’s mother are not only encouraged but considered essential components of fulfilling one’s religious obligations.Beyond the teachings of the Quran and the sayings of Prophet Muhammad, Islamic history is replete with examples of revered mothers who exemplified the epitome of selflessness, devotion, and strength. From the steadfastness of Hajar, the wife of Prophet Ibrahim, to the patience of Aminah, the mother of Prophet Muhammad, and the wisdom of Khadijah, his wife, Islamic tradition honors these women as role models for all believers.

In contemporary times, Muslims around the world continue to uphold the values of

Embracing Hazrat Fatima’s (RA) ExampleIn a society where marriage customs carry significant weight, the plight of unmarried girls in Kashmir has drawn attention to the need for cultural introspection and change.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s call to emulate Hazrat Fatima’s (RA) example offers a poignant solution rooted in Islamic tradition.

Kashmir, known for its rich cultural tapestry and deep-rooted traditions, has, unfortunately, witnessed a growing number of unmarried girls due to deviations in marriage practices. While marriage is revered and cherished, societal norms and expectations often impose burdensome standards, leaving many young women marginalized and overlooked.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a prominent religious figure in the region, has stepped forward to address this pressing issue.

By invoking the example of Hazrat Fatima (RA), the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he offers a paradigm shift in mindset and approach towards marriage.

Hazrat Fatima (RA) exemplifies resilience, faith, and unwavering devotion to her principles. Despite her exalted status, she lived a life of simplicity and humility, demonstrating that material wealth and societal status are not prerequisites for a fulfilling life.

Her marriage to Imam Ali (RA) was based on mutual respect, love, and spiritual compatibility, setting a timeless example for Muslims worldwide.Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s message resonates deeply in a society where materialism and superficial standards often overshadow the essence of marriage. By encouraging individuals to emulate Hazrat Fatima’s (RA) values of simplicity, piety, and steadfastness, he advocates for a reevaluation of priorities and a return to the core principles of Islam.

Furthermore, the emphasis on mutual respect and spiritual compatibility in marriage echoes Hazrat Fatima’s (RA) union with Imam Ali (RA), emphasizing the importance of shared values and emotional connection over societal expectations. In embracing Hazrat Fatima’s (RA) example, the community in Kashmir can foster a culture of inclusivity, compassion, and understanding towards unmarried girls. Rather than stigmatizing
