Aug 25: A pall of gloom descended on Chotipora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district after a local resident, Mohammad Lateef Mir, lost his life in a tragic road accident on Sunday.
According to reports, the accident occurred on a busy stretch of road in Shopian when the vehicle in which Mir was traveling met with an unfortunate mishap. Despite immediate efforts to shift him to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
The untimely demise of Mir has left the entire community in deep mourning. Hundreds of locals gathered at his residence in Chotipora to offer condolences and solidarity with the bereaved family.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigations are underway.The tragic accident once again highlights the growing concern over road safety in the region, where such incidents continue to claim precious lives.
